I saw Hamoinee feeding her young and immediately took out my camera to get a few shots. They're simply lovely~ They are super adventurous and even start nibbling on solid food! it's so exciting to see them grow into healthy and energetic roborovski hamsters!

Hello peeps, today is the 12th day since the birth of the 6 robo babies.. yesterday, one of them came out of its nest to explore the surroundings. as you can see from the video, the slit at the eyes are opening and their ears are just so tiny and cute! enjoy the video~

Hello~ Hamoinee's babies are 8 days old and they're starting to explore around their home! I'm glad that all 6 of them are healthy and doing very well =) Credit goes to Hamoinee for being such a wonderful and lovely mom!

Update on the babies! - Day 6

I manage to get a shot of the roborovski babies while Hamoinee was away drinking her vitamin water. Today the babies are 6 days old and all of them are going strong and healthy! As you can see from the picture, they are less red already and it seems to me that it is their fur that is growing out~ Another thing that I notice is their ears have grown out a little =) They're simply gorgeous! Stay tuned for more updateS!

I took a picture of the babies in the nest Hamoinee built for them. They're so cute! Their ears have already grown out! I'm so excited for them and I think Hamoinee is really a strong mom to be able to take care of 6 of them. . so here goes.. =)

Zhu Zhu Hamsters

Heard of Zhu Zhu's? They're hamsters that can live forever! These hamsters are toys that bear the names of Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueak and Num Nums. They move around like real pets and the advantage is that they won't die!

The thing is.. they will never be able to replace the real hamsters we have. Being able to 'live forever' isn't enough, they aren't as cute as the lovely hamsters we have!

Hello all. I was browsing through the Hamster Fanatic Forum and came across this post by Soosy. As Soosy mentioned "He didn't want to come out and just sat by his food bowl when I opened the door.
He quickly pouched a peanut but didn't move until I'd filled his bowl with food..."

And the picture says it all!

Bitten by Hamoinee

I took this video awhile ago but didn't have time to post it up. In this video I got bitten by Hamoinee and what I want to say is: Do not be afraid to try again. The more you have interaction with your hamster, the more used they'll be towards you - less likely to be bitten. The reason why I ask you not to be afraid, is because hamsters can feel fear. They will sense it and they probably won't react favourably to it either.

How's the taming coming along? Hopefully things are going well between you and your hamsters! Here comes the video:

Hello all =)

Sorry for not updating my blog for awhile. It's exam period here in Singapore so I was busy preparing for it and didn't have time to update. Anyway as I've mentioned in HFF, I just got a new hamster and her name is Hamoinee! She's very cute and lovely. I'm in the stage of taming her now. So I thought of filming it down to let you guys take a look. Probably you guys already know how to do it already, but for those who don't, this is how I do it! =)

I was browsing through some websites that provides names for hamsters. I thought that it'll be quite a good resource for people who want to name their new born hamsters or have problems thinking of names.

Personally, I like the the name generator from coyoteslodge. It gives a random name when you click on the 'Generate' button. Do browse around the websites and have fun naming your hamsters!

Hamu passed away..

Hi all, Hamu has passed away and is at the rainbow bridge now. Enjoying all the yummy food, funky wheels and free space he can find. This video is a tribute to my little Hamu. Just something for us to remember him by. Hamu was always very lively and jumpy. He became a star when Hamu-sti was launched and people from the Hamster Fanatic Forum had many positive reviews on him. Now let us take a minute so see the colourful life Hamu had.

Hamster Health - Red ear on Hamsti

2 days back, I realize Hamsti's ears got a bit red. Worried that it might be an infection/mite attack, I google-ed it. I found out that:

Take a closer look at the hamster to check if it is scratching excessively.
Take note if there is odor, redness, swelling and/or discharge from the ear.
If so, contact your vet immediately to get him to check your hamster. Do not assume you know what illness your hamster is suffering from.
If it is not scratching excessively, monitor it for a day or so. (It probably got it's ear wet)
If the redness does not go away, follow step 3

Hamsti and Hamu were sleeping in their poo box when I took this photo of them. Look at how deep Hamsti is into his sleep! When Hamu heard the sound of my camera, he woke up and fell asleep on Hamsti but moved away before I could get a picture of them.

This is Hamu eating at the 7th storey of his apartment. Usually I can only get pictures of Hamu eating. Hamsti will store everything in his mouth and eat quietly at a corner.

And this is Hamu's cage-mate Hamsti! Also a very good boy eating on my palm. I like feeding them on my palm. It's a way of getting close to them and letting them get used to my smell. I'm currently working on a video to show how I tamed both of my hamsters. Look out for it =)
