Hamster Health - Red ear on Hamsti

2 days back, I realize Hamsti's ears got a bit red. Worried that it might be an infection/mite attack, I google-ed it. I found out that:

  1. Take a closer look at the hamster to check if it is scratching excessively.
  2. Take note if there is odor, redness, swelling and/or discharge from the ear.
  3. If so, contact your vet immediately to get him to check your hamster. Do not assume you know what illness your hamster is suffering from.
  4. If it is not scratching excessively, monitor it for a day or so. (It probably got it's ear wet)
  5. If the redness does not go away, follow step 3
Hope this short post has helped you. Otherwise you can always visit HFF to post your questions and you might get very informative help there.

Cheers!
